Peter Bis Revisited
Earlier this year I posted about an intriguing fixture up on Capitol Hill, a homeless man named Peter Joseph Bis that sits greeting passerbys making the trek from Union Station to the Dirksen, Hart and Russell Senate Office Buildings. Yesterday, our local NPR affiliate did a short segment on Peter that I thought some of you might be interested in.

Ah... v. nice.
I thought so.
On the Plus side this was a short post, on the minus side I didn't really want to listen to the NPR thing, so I don't have much to say, but you're a badass Marc.
An indirect jab at my last post, eh? Bastard. Anyway, the NPR thing is only about 3 minutes long and is worth the listen.
I think he is one of the 3 Nephites. That is how he can survive without need of food or heat. Think about it. Kidding. Marc, you should help him out, its sad.
When the hell is it going to end... So I'm listening to this story, and it's kind of interesting, then I hear the lady say "...That is how life is for the un-sheltered..." Since when the hell did homeless become not pc?????? AAAARRRRRRRRHHHHRHGHGHHGHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHHHHH
I agree. Too many damn euphemisms. If you haven't seen George Carlin's piece on euphemisms, now is a good time: ....weird, can't find it on yourtube anymore.
Anyway, I just met Pete tonight. I'm new to the area, had no idea who he was, and thought he was fascinating. Turns out he's more famous than most on the Hill! (and deservedly so!) A very heartwarming NPR piece, thanks for posting it.
