Constituent Mail

Alright. I'll admit it. I'm one of those who writes his Congressmen a fair amount and, for my efforts, I typically get a bunch of constituent mail in response. You know... the long, boring form letters Congressmen respond with about three months after you write. They are supposedly "personalized" by interns, but (in my case at least), rarely seem to be on point.

It's seldom that I get back an interesting response, much less an entertaining one. Which is why I felt a little shafted when I read about this engaging letter recently sent by Missouri Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson. It just came right out and said what most of mine seem to be saying underhandedly.

Not receiving such scintillating correspondence from my Congressional delegation is probably best now that I think about it though. Perhaps it's even intentional on the part of my elected officials... they wouldn't want to do anything to encourage me to write more than I already do.

Save Sons & Daughters

I need a favor.

I know, I know. I've been a bit of a recluse of late... but with several finals looming like a dark storm on my horizon, I've regretfully neglected the blogosphere. I beg of you to find it in your hearts to forgive me though and lend me a much needed hand.

You see... ABC has yet to pick up Sons & Daughters for another season. Now with all the formulaic trash that is polluting the airwaves, I feel it incumbent upon me to do what I can to save one of the few shows I thoroughly enjoy. So if you could be so kind as to sign this online petition to bring it back this fall, I'd be eternally grateful (well... grateful for the next few years at least until the show is eventually cancelled or has run its due course).

I'll go ahead and thank you up front for your help... and leave you with the promise that I'll post again soon.
