Er... Sore Loser?

In a little followed race this year in Texas's 1st Congressional District, Democrat Roger L. Owen challenged the Republican Representative Louie Gohmert for his seat in Congress. Owen got smeared in the general election on Tuesday 68% to 29%. And while Owen's party won back control of the House, the Senate, and a majority of the nation's Governorships, losing his own race apparently still didn't sit too well Roger. He now claims to no longer consider himself an American or a Southern Baptist... oh and it seems he plans on leaving the country too. We'd ask where, but he's made it clear that we're not to contact him.

Update: Just in case anyone was interested in Mister Owen's past criminal history and the special interest groups who were actually responsible for his conviction:

Bless his heart. How do you expect him to win when he takes on the FL Bar Association, and refuses to accept campaign contributions?

Have fun in Costa Rica. I hear it's lovely this time of year.

I want to hear more about the man that the drunken woman was entertaining.

Sheldon - Sure, why not. I'm pretty sure selling Citizenships is the life-blood of Lichtenstein's economy.

BA - Well, you have to admit he has a point BA. I mean, after all, we are "blood sucking parasites from profiting off the pain of others." Don't you share in his "idealistic" vision? "I would like to see a third of them behind bars, another third digging ditches and with a third left, that is still to many attorneys for our country."

Alice - I would have to agree... very choice.

TFB - You're missing the point TFB!! It was all the FLORIDA BAR's fault. He wasn't burglarizing... he was professing his love to a drunken exotic dancer while she was giving someone else a lapdance. Where's the crime in that?

I think the font selection was a great choice and the teal background was a nice touch as well. Judging solely off of that he would have got my vote.

Good point Billie. Might I also point out that he surely would have been extremely popular with all of BA's hippie Oregon friends... he campaigned by bicycle (something about his license getting revoked).

I think it is good for him to be "upfront" with voters, but did he have to add the "intoxicated entertainer" part.....classy. I think I would vote for him because I felt sorry for him.

My mom voted for George Bush Sr. because she felt sorry for him. Seriously. Too bad no one else felt the same way. I might have given this guy a sympathy vote if he didn't want to imprison a third of the people in my profession. How does he think that he's going to get attorneys behind bars without other attorneys? C'mon! Think!

That guy looks pretty awesome.

Can we somehow get Roger Owens and Cody Judy to run for something together in '08?

Oh wait... I just noticed someone said 'have fun in Costa rica.' I'm guessing you're in Costa Rica.

Blonde Mama - Vote for him because you feel sorry for him, et? Was this your strategy in dating too? Don't worry... I won't tell Seth (or MacArthur).

Mind Spew - Your mom voted for Bush Sr. because she felt sorry for him?

DAK - They make a fine pair, don't they?

Sue Ellen - Nope... I'm around. Just been slacking. Actually, I have a really long post on the election almost finished. It just needs a few finishing touches. As for Costa Rica... I think BA was just implying that ole' Roger Owens was going to relocate someplace LIKE Costa Rica.
