FREEDOM!!!*

*Well, at least until school starts again next fall, which, of course, is to be followed by the bar and the inevitable selling of my soul to a firm. But for now... for now, sweet freedom it is.

Marc, you cry of freedom is insensitive and racist. For you to equate finishing law school finals with the struggle that slaves have gone through, whether here in America or elsewhere, diminishes the struggle they went through. Law school is a voluntary activity and you should be grateful for the opportunity you have. I think an apology is due.

That's right. Law school is a privelige not a right. Even if it is an expensive and stupid privelige. Think of all those starving bloated kids in africa that want to go to law school, but can't!

syd said...

bloated from starvation... you wouldn't know about that sort of thing, since you have all the food and law school you want. Just remember Marc, Glutony is a sin.

The idea that you are free now and weren't at an earlier time leads people to assume that you were a slave. And you can't ever compare anything to the struggle they went through without being a racist. Even if the comparison is tangential at best.

Just because you put a picture of a crazed Christian on your blog doesn't mean that people will assume you were referring to the Scotts. You have to remember, all remarks that can be construed as racist, will be, but mainly by ultra-sensitive, wealthy, white, liberal law students.

which accurately describes me.

wealthy? where are you hiding said wealth? I deserve a peace as I work my butt off to allow you to participate in your so-called slavery.

This really is a sad day. You and George Bush really do have a lot more in common than you think Marc.

Garg - You're right. Glutony is one. I'll definitely have to remember that. Thanks Garg. If I'm going to be troubling myself with avoiding sin though, I seem to remember that there were a few others. Isn't vanity one? I think pride might be one too. I should probably try to avoid them all, right?

BA - I'm still not quite seeing it. Didn't we fight for our freedom in the Revolutionary war? I don't remember most of the minutemen being slaves (but I did sleep a lot in Mr. Miner's history class though).

George Bush and me have a lot in common? I mean besides our great public speaking skills, excellent grasps on foreign policy, and rugged good looks, what else do we share?

syd said...

i guess we are both sinners... wanna fornicate with me?

Have I ever turned you down?

McDreamy you get your "peace" as I continue to choose not to be an abusive husband. See, our house is peaceful, because I'm secretly rich and you're burise-free. Man, if there's a bad spousal abuse joke I haven't heard it.

Law school huh? All this time I thought you were a teacher or something.

Man you think you know somebody...

Tara said...

Oh yes and death to America.

Marc said...

Garg - Perhaps it's good that you're not married.

Tara - Death to America?

Tara said...

It's from Letterman. Haven't you seen the spoof on Osama? I haven't watched it forever so maybe it is not on there anymore.

I think it is definitely good that Gar is not married. All though a good mormon wife might settle him down some.

Wow... what a postive outlook you have Marc. Soo much to look forward to.

I don't think Gar needs a wife, Tara, I think he needs a clone so he can marry (in a legalized state) himself. When it's love, it's love, right?

And I agree with Marc. Not becuase I know what the hell he's talkig about, but because he sounds smart so he's probably right. Freedom.

Tara said...

Yeah you are probably right, Liz. He needs a clone of himself to marry. Then hopefully we can prevent him from having any offspring.

Kidding Gar! Ok, maybe I'm not.

syd said...

wouldn't a clone be a sort of offspring? I wouldnt stop at just one clone, i would need many. We would become the worlds most exclusive gentlemans club.

Does freedom mean you'll be blogging more often?

When you sell your soul to a lawfirm, at least you get a good price for it. Try selling your soul to public education.

Marc said...

I hope to step up the blogging somewhat. I have several posts I've been stewing on. Just gotta' get the ball rolling again.

Thanks for helping me to keep my soul-selling in perspective. One overlooked fringe benefit of teaching school, however, is that you're still able to sleep with that good conscience still intact.

or with any student of your choosing.

Marc, at least I have that going for me. That and summers. Can't forget the summers (mine is only 21.5 days away).

Garg, that's gross.

Marc said...

Ahh summers... among the best of benefits from teaching I'd assume.
