As I get older, and seem to lose my brain, at least I know I am smarter than the President. That makes me feel good.
Next year's election is going to have you on pins and needles then. You've got a tough choice on your hands: A competent president... or your self-esteem.
In truth, although I'm not a huge fan of his politics, I think President Bush is a pretty smart guy. He's not a policy wonk, is overly ideological for my tastes, and can be annoyingly stubborn, but he's pretty smart nonetheless.
Public speaking, however, isn't exactly his forte.
I think you are reaching with that error. With his crazy "accent" it is sometimes hard to pick up exactly what he is saying. On a side note someone told me that he doesn't really have an accent he just does it because people like it. I think he sounds a lot like his dad, so it can't be fake.
I'm reaching? I'm going to have to shift the blame on this one onto Reuters (among others).
With the man's track record on verbal miscues though, this one's not that hard to believe...
Retard.
Me or Bush?
And that is why I turn off NPR or switch the channel anytime I hear/see George W. speaking.
The good news- You don't need to worry about my self-esteem.
The bad news- This just may be a tough election for me. Last election I voted for George W. because I thought he was cute. This coming election, I just don't think anybody is really that cute.
King - So decide for yourself (The audio isn't quite matched up with the image, but it is authentic).
Becca - Well... apparently you don't have to worry too much about hearing Bush that often on NPR.
Somm - That is, of course, unless Chris Dodd manages to pull it out.
Sorry Marc, I still don't believe it. kidding. I agree with you though that GWB is smart, just not the best public speaker..
He's really good at hiding it...his smarts.
Wait, I don't get it. What's wrong with the quote?
"Childrens do learn" is almost as good as one of my favorites from Mr. Bush, "working hard to put food on your family..."
Tara - Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Jonesy - It's just so hard to choose a favorite...
